Not really growing up with any real grandfatherly figures in my life, Peter Falk was always on my list of those that would be candidates to fulfill that role (along with Jacques Pepin). In his honor, I am going to be watching The Princess Bride, Murder by Death, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Made, Wings of Desire, obviously I'll have to dabble in a few Columbo episodes as well if they are available on the Netflix instant view. So sad.
